"따뜻한 쉼이 머무는 마을"
'WARM休(온휴)'는 따뜻함(WARM)과 쉼(休)의 결합으로, 어르신들이 편안하게 머물며 행복한 삶을 누릴 수 있는 공동체를 의미한다.
한자로 '休'는 사람(人)과 나무(木)로 이루어져 있어, 자연과 함께하는 안식처라는 뜻을 담고 있다.
마을처럼 배치된 주거동과 자연을 닮은 박공지붕이 어우러져, 어르신들이 서로 교류하며 편안한 휴식을 누릴 수 있는 공간을 만든다.
장방향인 대지의 특성을 고려하여, 할머니동은 대지의 오른쪽 상부에 할아버지동은 대지의 왼쪽 하부에 수평으로 위치한다.
이 두동은 각자의 프라이버시를 유지하면서도 공용공간인 중앙 공용거실을 중심으로 연결된다. 두 주거동을 이어주는 중심 역할을 한다.
또한, 왼쪽 상부에 두 개의 게스트 동이 할아버지동과 마주보고 위치해 있으며, 두 동 사이로 주진입이 이루어지며 중앙의 공용거실로 이어진다. 게스트동은 가족이나 방문객을 위한 공간으로, 각 주거동과의 분리감을 주며, 편안한 방문 환경을 조성한다.
주변 산세의 율동감을 닮은 박공 지붕이 따뜻하고 조화로운 분위기를 만든다. 외벽은 롱브릭파벽돌과 함성목재를 사용하여 자연스럽고 내구성 있는 질감을 강조했다. 또한, 창틀은 옛 느낌과 따스함이 느껴지도록 나무색 프레임을 적용해 전통적이고 아늑한 분위기를 더하며, 전체적인 컨셉 WARM休(온휴)를 유지한다.
거주하는 노인분들의 사생활 보호를 위해 가벽과 담을 활용했다. 담으로 둘러싸인 건물 내 마당에서는 프라이버시를 유지하면서도 사계절의 자연을 온전히 즐길 수 있다. 또한, 할아버지동과 할머니동의 공용거실 또한 담으로 둘러싸인 외부 공간과 연결되며, 실내에서 자연스럽게 실외 거실로 확장되어 외부와의 연계성을 계획했다.
WARM休 (On-Hyu)
"A Village Where Warm Rest Stays"
WARM休 (On-Hyu) combines warmth (WARM) and rest (休) to create a communal living space where seniors can stay comfortably and enjoy a fulfilling life. The Chinese character 休 consists of 人 (person) and 木 (tree), symbolizing a sanctuary in harmony with nature. The residential buildings, arranged like a village, blend seamlessly with the gabled roofs inspired by nature, creating a space where seniors can interact with one another while enjoying peaceful rest.
Considering the elongated site, the Grandmothers’ Residence is positioned in the upper right section, while the Grandfathers’ Residence is placed in the lower left section of the site, both arranged horizontally. These two buildings maintain privacy while being connected by a central communal living room, which serves as the heart of the design. Additionally, two guest houses are located in the upper left section, facing the Grandfathers’ Residence. The main entrance is situated between these two guest houses, leading directly to the central communal living space. The guest houses provide accommodations for family members and visitors, ensuring a sense of separation from the main residences while offering a welcoming and comfortable environment.
The gabled roofs, inspired by the rhythm of the surrounding mountain ridges, create a warm and harmonious atmosphere. The exterior walls feature long brick veneer and composite wood, emphasizing a natural yet durable texture. Furthermore, wood-colored window frames evoke a sense of tradition and warmth, enhancing the overall WARM休 (On-Hyu) concept.
To protect the privacy of the senior residents, partition walls and fences have been incorporated. The enclosed courtyards allow residents to enjoy the beauty of all four seasons while maintaining their personal space. The communal living rooms in both the Grandfathers’ and Grandmothers’ residences also connect to these enclosed outdoor spaces, naturally extending into outdoor living areas, fostering a seamless relationship between indoor and outdoor environments.
